Inside Our Closet: Taco Tuesday

(On Candice: Dress/Handbag/Bracelet/Necklace: Vintage, Sandals: Salt Water On Vanessa: Dress/Brooch/Handbag: Vintage, Sandals: Salt Water)

On Tuesday, we shut down our computers early (yeah!) and met up down on 2nd street in Long Beach for tacos and margaritas.  We took advantage of the beautiful weather and wore two of our favorite dresses.  This pretty much sums up our everyday uniform in the Spring and Summer months.  Vintage cotton dresses and open toe sandals are our favorite. xo

Inside Our Closet: Countdown to Spring

(On Vanessa- Dress/Clutch/Bangles/Necklace: Vintage, Sunglasses: Ray Ban, Shoes: Sam Edelman. On me- Dress/Clutch/Bangles/Necklace: Vintage, Sunglasses: Ray Ban, Shoes: Salt Water)

March 20th, marks the first day of spring. Less than a month away, yay! Okay, so the weather here has been averaging 60 to 70 degrees during the day so I'm not complaining. But I feel bad for those of you who live in the midwest and on the east coast. Winter has been just brutal. All those snowy pictures on instagram are making me tired of winter and I don't even live there. Everyone needs to move to So Cal. I seriously couldn't live anywhere else.

Vanessa and I took advantage of the sunny skies this past week and met for lunch at Orange Circle. We bought these two pretty dresses for the shop but couldn't fathom selling them so we decided they are keepers (for now).

Other than looking forward for spring to hit, I am counting down the days until Elvis (my new puppy) finishes his last set of shots. I can't take him out until then and I also can't leave him for too long in the house by himself or else he will chew on everything. We both have major cabin fever over here!

xoxo,
Candice

Inside Our Closet: Winter in So Cal

Floral dresses, halters and open toe sandals.  We can't believe it ourselves either!  We've had some unexpected gorgeous weather for the past month.  It always cools down a bit this time of year so I guess we have the cooler temperatures to look forward to.  But in the mean time, we're going to take full advantage of it.  We did the usual, shopping and lunch al fresco.  The 1940s dress that I wore (on the right) has been in the shop for almost a year now!!!  Way too long for being so pretty.  So, I've decided I'm keepin' it for myself.  I'm in love with the print and kinda obsessed with the midi length.  xo Vanessa

Inside Our Closet: Floral Prints & Furry Friends

(On Vanessa: Dress- Vintage Koret of California, Jewelry- Vintage Bakelite, Clutch- Club Monaco, Sandals- Salt Water. On me: Dress/Clutch- Vintage, Necklace- Vintage Lucite, Sunnies- Ray Ban, Sandals- Salt Water)

Boy did the summer-like temperatures come back in Southern California! Oh yes, those spring-like temperatures in July and in the beginning of August are gone! It has been smoking hot here lately (and I mean temperature wise). Vanessa and I braved the heat on Friday, when we met for lunch and some quick photos for the blog. We chowed down on some cold drinks and yummy fries. We ran into this beautiful little kitty on the sidewalk. She was such a sweet little girl.

Speaking of furry friends, my boyfriend and I adopted a little guy named Jack over the weekend. Many applications, phone calls and interviews later finally led us to our new little family member (I didn't know the adoption process was so strenuous but I am definitely glad that it is). Let's just say, I-am-in-puppy-love. I've only had him for a little bit but I am so in love with him already. The sleepless nights of potting training are nothing when I have these eyes to look at. I know it sounds dorky but, I am so excited for life with this little sunshine :).

Inside Our Closet: Two of Our Favorite Vintage Labels

Two vintage labels that we are always on the lookout for are Jonathan Logan and Jerry Gilden.  There is just something about the prints and the styling of the dresses that we both just love.  The purple and black floral printed Jerry Gilden dress was a piece that I admired on Pinterest for the longest time and finally it popped up on Etsy in my size so I had to scoop it up!  :)

What are some of your favorite vintage labels? xo Vanessa
